How to Generate Massive Traffic to your Site: A StumbleUpon Case Study

Generate Traffic with StumbleUpon

This is a case study I would like test with StumbleUpon on how to generate traffic to my site.

The plan is simple.

Submit as many links as I can using only one blog post from my blog.

However, StumbleUpon accepts single submission of links per user/account. So my trick is, not to create multiple users or accounts and submit a single blog post. Rather, I will create a multiple version of link pointing to one or the same article link from my blog.

The actual action plan…

Step 1: Write the  content. For the sake of this case study, I will use an existing blog post :

Step 2: Install Redirection plugin. This plugin allows you to customize the url of any link. Here’s the plugin’s link:

Step 3: Login to StumbleUpon and go to the submit page:

Step 4: Submit the original link with the proper tags, category and description:

Submit to Stumbleupon

Step 5: Create multiple redirection links. Below is an example. In my case I will try 5 links for this test. Here are the links:

Redirection Link

Step 6: Rinse and repeat to your other links.

Totally being honest, I have no idea what the result maybe. I could be banned or fortunately – the other way around. I may really generate massive traffic. My hopes are high as I cross my fingers. LOL :)

bookmark this page and I will let you know the outcome after 7 days. Let see…

Stubleupon is one of my top referrer also. I’m using SNAP plugin and every time I have a new article on my blog, it also automatically posted with my Stubleupon account.

never tried stumble upon before, its time i go the social bookmarking way, but? is stumbleupon traffic really genuine? or they just read and hit the close tab and do they also subscribe to newsletter? to my opinion i think stumbleupon traffic lasts for a couple of days and it goes dowwn again…what do you think?

Hi Gilbert,
Thanks for visiting my site. In my opinion, you are correct. StumbleUpon traffic is unstable. Check out the result of my case study:
