How To Build Backlinks: The Newbie Guide
In this blog post, I will show you how to build backlinks. This tutorial is actually intended for newbies who might just in case do not know how to build backlinks from other website at all.
When you go to a website, you need to create a link towards your page. You just need to insert a code whether by commenting on a blog, creating your profile in a forum or through submission of an article. Here’s how the code(s) look like:
- HTML Code – <a href=”http://yourdomainname.com”>keyword</a>
- BB Code – [url=http://yourdomainname.com]keyword[/url]
Breakdown:
yourdomainname.com is where your actual domain name should be. While the keyword is the actual search term you are trying to rank for – this is called the Anchor Text.
To get the maximum efficiency of anchor texts, use the exact keyword or exact keyword phrases that you’re aiming to rank. However, to make your backlink building more natural or organic, you have to mix a variety of keywords relevant to your main keyword. This is sometimes called LSI or Latent Semantic indexing which I talked about in my blog post on page SEO checklist.
For example, you main keyword your targeting to rank high is “Build Backlinks”, similar keyword could be:
- How to build backlinks
- Best way to build backlinks
- Build backlinks fast
- Build backlinks free
- Build quality backlinks
- Top x backlink building techniques
If you’re trying to build backlinks to your site with one keyword all throughout the internet, that will look suspicious to Google. It doesn’t look natural. In my own opinion, you can have at least 5 relevant keyword backlinks out of 100 overall backlinks.
Link Structure
When building your backlinks, do not point all links to the home page. All web pages should have links coming from other websites because each web page can rank particularly for a certain keyword. Below is an illustration.
Make sure you build backlinks to every single page. Every single page will be targeting a single keyword. Therefore, every page has the potential to rank high in Google on its own.
